A randomized, double-blind, cross-over study, with 16 healthy women was done to compare the bioavailability of Ultimine™ Iron to ferrous sulfate (FeSO4) 14 days after supplementation.
Results
Ultimine™ Iron has been clinically shown to have the same absorption (Log%) as FeSO4 using a stable isotope methodology.

Slowly Released into the Body

Methods
A randomized, double-blind, cross-over design, with 16 healthy women, was done to compare serum iron release after an acute dose of either Ultimine® Iron or FeSO4 during 8 hours after supplementation.
Results
Compared to FeSO4, Ultimine™ Iron is slowly released into circulation causing lesser iron surge into the blood.

Easy on the Body

Methods
A randomized, double-blind, cross-over design, with 16 healthy women, was done to compare serum iron release after an acute dose of either Ultimine® Iron or FeSO4 during 8 hours after supplementation.
Results
Ultimine® Iron maintains normal iron saturation levels (<45% transferrin saturation, TS) compared to FeSO4, which reached 65 %TS after 3 hours of supplementation.
High TS are associated with increased oxidative stress and cellular aging(3).
